As a republican, it would seem obvious I would be casting my vote for Eric Schmitt in November. Considering the high prices of groceries, gas, economic insecurity, and national security issues currently on the ballot it would seem for Eric Schmitt to be the obvious choice. After all, the GOP party platform clearly states they are “centered on stimulating economic growth for all Americans, protecting constitutionally-guaranteed freedoms, ensuring the integrity of our elections, and maintaining our national security.”
However, Eric Schmitt is clearly lacking in these areas and that is why I will be voting for Trudy Busch Valentine in November, and you should too. On the issues, Eric Schmitt talks about holding China accountable in one breath, while selling vital Missouri farm ground to them in the next. Schmitt also discusses saving jobs, but offers no real solutions on the matter or how to boost the economy and fight the inflation we have all been experiencing since covid.
Schmitt continues to bank on the party line without offering any new solutions on how to solve the problems we all truly care about. He is simply another career politician looking to advance his political career in Washington on the backs of hardworking Missourians.

Meanwhile, Trudy Busch Valentine is an outsider who promises to “put politics aside and to put people first.” Rather than playing politics as usual, Busch Valentine is advocating for government ethics reform and presenting actionable solutions to fight back against the corruption in Washington such as putting lifetime bans on congresspeople to become lobbyists and banning members of congress or their spouses from trading stocks. By doing so, Busch Valentine will put the focus back on the people and force the politicians to listen to their constitutions and stop selling out to lobbyists and corporations.
She is also the only candidate addressing inflation on her platform, by fighting to lower the cost of groceries and other basic necessities while also promising to invest in bringing new industries to Missouri to create more high-paying jobs back home. This will ensure Missouri families no longer have to suffer between the choice of groceries, bills, and gas when looking at how to spend their paycheck; as well as increase incomes statewide by providing more high-paying jobs to the people of Missouri.

Busch Valentine is also protecting Missouri’s farmers to prohibit the Chinese Communist Party from purchasing Missouri farmland, something Eric Schmitt has allowed, as well as empower independent family farms to keep their farms without pressure from Big Ag. These policies will uplift one of the most vital parts of Missouri’s economy protecting not just struggling family farms, but all Missourians. We all benefit when agriculture benefits and that is what Trudy Busch Valentine understands.
Aside from the issues of inflation, jobs, government corruption, and agriculture; Busch Valentine continues to address many of the issues Schmitt has yet to touch on, including the opioid epidemic, Medicare and social security, and increased funding for police officers and first responders. Schmitt’s platform remains silent on these issues affecting everyday Missourians.
As a former nurse, Trudy Busch Valentine understands the struggles of the people of Missouri. The solutions she is presenting will not only increase jobs in Missouri, protect our most vulnerable populations, police officers, first responders, and family farms, but she will be following through on the promises made by many within the Republican establishment to address the rampant corruption in Washington.

Busch Valentine may be running as a Democrat, but she is exactly the candidate Republicans should be voting for in November. It is time to put parties aside, focus on the issues, and put the people first. This November, Missourians should prove their votes are not guaranteed by any political party and stand up against the political establishment that has taken advantage of the people for so long. That is why this November I will be putting politics aside and voting for Trudy Busch Valentine; and that’s why you should too.
