Current Attorney General, Eric Schmitt, continues to neglect the safety of Missourians while focusing on radical talking points in a bid for the US Senate seat open in Missouri.
Allegations against the Agape Boarding School in Southwest Missouri alleged multiple child abuse complaints including physical. Reports of abuse dating back to as early as 2015 showcase a long-standing history of neglect at the school throughout Schmitt’s time as Attorney General; however, these newest allegations are the first time Schmitt has recommended the closing of the school.
Many sources reached out to the Attorney General’s office for comment including KSMU, the Kansas City Star, and the STL Post-Dispatch; all were met with a decline for comment. On September 9, the same day as the Agape story was released, Schmitt’s official twitter posted, “Every step of the way I fought for FREEDOM over Fauci for the people of Missouri," in an attempt to overshadow the story at hand. The campaign continues to make no comments regarding the Agape boarding school.
All of this begs the question, “Is Schmitt fighting for Missouri, or someone else?” As he continues to focus on GOP talking points such as the Southern border and big tech with little talk of the issues that actually matter to Missourians. Instead, he continues to use Trump-style politics as his main calling card to the people of Missouri.
On the other hand, Trudy Busch Valentine continues to advocate for the health and well-being of Missourians through her new bus tour “Nobody’s Senator but Yours.” She has advocated for nurses and healthcare at the Missouri Nurses Picnic in Kirksville, opposed foreign ownership of Missouri farmland at the Burris Community Center in Brookfield, and America’s values at Mokaska Coffee in St Joseph. These are all issues where Valentine remains vocal despite silence from the Schmitt campaign.
When it comes to common sense and safety for Missourians there appears to be a clear winner ready to lead the charge in the Senate. This leader is Trudy Bush Valentine.
