Following the overturning of Roe v. Wade, Eric Schmitt filed a lawsuit against St. Louis’s abortion fund- reinforcing the most restrictive abortion ban in Missouri. Yesterday morning, the case was moved from the U.S District Courts back to the St. Louis Circuit Court. National abortion right’s groups were hopeful of this decision to move the case away from the federal courts.
Following the courts’ decision, Trudy Busch-Valentine sent out a tweet criticizing Schmitt’s support of such harmful legislation for women, and reinforced how it continues to strip our freedoms of healthcare access in Missouri. Executive Director of Pro-Choice Missouri, Molly Schwartz, released a statement Tuesday morning regarding the legality of abortion support following post Roe v. Wade, “Missourians seeking abortions are forced to leave their homes and travel across state lines to access essential healthcare…we are grateful for the support and partnerships that ensure Missouri access to abortion care.”
As Schwartz said, we as Missourians are grateful for local organizers and supporters reinforcing the St. Louis group funding for Missouri's right to an abortion. It’s very important that we stay in touch with our status on our rights to essential healthcare practices, and Trudy-Busch Valentine has continued to speak out and continue advocating on behalf of these crucial issues. Valentine has an amazing platform in regards to protecting out abortion rights and access to healthcare in Missouri. Her plan in the Senate is to protect the right to safe and legal abortion everywhere, and continue to represent all of the women and families at risk from this extremely restrictive and harmful legislation.

Valentine’s credentials and experience as a long-time nurse and mother make her the best candidate to fulfill the Missouri Senate and enforce new legislation to protect our rights post Roe v. Wade. The last day to register to vote in Missouri is October 12th, make sure to get out there to enforce the change you want to see- and VOTE for Valentine!
